The Motorola monthly medal golf tournament was held on 31 March at the Emirates Golf Club.

More than 100 golfers competed in Friday’s tournament, which was divided into 3 categories based on handicap, and is being held in conjunction with Motorola’s authorized distributor in the UAE, Globalnet.

“Motorola continues to support sport activities as part of our core value as a responsible corporate citizen,” said Patrick Mulligan, Area Director for Motorola´s Mobile Devices Business. “The look and advanced communication features of our handsets ensure that Motorola phones are a golfer’s first choice in order to do stay connected with the world while playing a typical round of golf, be it for business or pleasure.”

The first grass course in the Middle East and favoured venue of the PGA European Tour event, The Dubai Desert Classic, Emirates Golf Club is a firm favourite with golfers in Dubai.

“As the local face of Motorola in the business community, Globalnet is pleased to be a part of this ongoing initiative to highlight Motorola’s wide range of mobile handsets to Dubai’s golf aficionados,” said S.S. Rajkumar, vice chairman and CEO, Globalnet.

Motorola used this event as a platform to introduce their latest devices to a captive, mobile-centric audience. These include the technologically advanced RAZR V3i, the stylish and ultra-slim SLVR L6 and L7 as well as the distinctive PEBL U6.

The winner of the tournament in each category received a special Motorola/Globalnet monthly medal and a gift voucher.
