The Turkish cost of the corruptions and misusing in recent months reached "unbelievable amount", as the amount of phony invoices, lost loans and service loss is $37 billion, Zaman reported Sunday.
A police revealed that a 3.6 quadrillion Turkish lira (5 million US dollar) fictitious exports and lost loan swindling in ten different operations launched in accordance with instructions of Interior Minister Sadettin Tantan.
In these operations, 328 people were taken into custody and 123 people were arrested.
The damage given to the budget by the banks whose coffers had been emptied reached $12 billion and public banks suffered a $20 billion service loss, the paper added.
