Crew of Chinese Ship Rescued South of Hong Kong

All 27 crew of a Chinese log carrier were rescued after their ship started listing and taking on water amid heavy seas and strong winds, the Hong Kong government said Friday. 

The crew of the 2,731 ton Ja Ding Guan were picked up 107 miles south of Hong Kong at 5:10 PM (0910 GMT) Thursday by Liberian container ship Dolphin Hope which was guided to their lifeboat by Hong Kong rescue aircraft, the government statement said. 

The Liberian ship then continued to Hong Kong -- HONG KONG (AFP)
