The Civil Defense in the Jizan region in Saudi Arabia announced that a Saudi citizen has been killed and seven others wounded when an artillery shell launched from Yemen landed in Southern Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, August 10th.

The spokesperson for the civil defense in Jizan, Yahya Abdullah al-Qahani, said that word reached them yesterday afternoon of an artillery shell from Yemeni territory that landed in the province of Samta, which led to the death of a Saudi citizen and seven others being wounded, including children.

The wounded were transported to a nearby hospital and being treated for their injuries.

Areas of Saudi Arabia close to the Yemeni border are subject to rockets and artillery on an almost daily basis ever since the outbreak of the Yemeni Crisis in 2015.

The Saudi Air Force has intercepted multiple missiles in recent months, but some artillery fire and mortars have cause injury and death.
