Cyprus Defense Minister Kyriakos Mavronicolas has said that the top priority of his Ministry is to preserve the National Guard's strong defense capability, since despite any developments in the Cyprus problem, Turkey continues to keep a heavily-armed force in the island's Turkish-occupied areas, the official Cyprus news agency said.
Mavronicolas flew to Athens Tuesday for a two-day official visit during which he is expected to hold talks with Greece's National Defense Minister Yiannos Papantoniou, the agency concluded. (Albawaba.com)
