Cyprus and the Republic of Chad are due to sign a protocol in New York on Wednesday to establish diplomatic relations.
The decision was taken Tuesday during a meeting between Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides and his African counterpart Mahamat Salem Annadif, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Both Ministers will sign the protocol, according to Cyprus News agency. On Wednesday, Kasoulides will address the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement at the UN and earlier he was to hold a working breakfast with US State Department Special Coordinator on Cyprus Thomas Weston, CNA said.
In addition, he will also meet members of the American Jewish Committee and US Undersecretary for political affairs Mark Grossman, with whom he will sign a bilateral legal cooperation agreement on combating money laundering.
