Four patrol boats, belonging to Cyprus' coastal police, have been scouring the seas on a 24-hour basis in a bid to prevent the entry into Cyprus of illegal immigrants, assistant unit commander of the coastal police, chief inspector George Frangos has said, according to CNA news agency Friday.

He told the official news agency that the coastal patrol boats are on full alert following a tip off from Interpol that illegal immigrants are expected to arrive on the island’s shores. (Albawaba.com)
