Cyprus President Glafcos is due to attend a meeting next Tuesday of the European Council in Brussels, responding to an invitation extended by Greek Prime Minister, Costas Simitis, whose country chairs the EU this term to the 15 EU states and 10 acceding countries.
The purpose of the meeting is to assess the situation in the framework of United Nations Security Council resolution 1441 and the common position decided by the European Union on January 27, according to the official Cyprus News Agency.
The Cypriot President will depart on February 17, one day after the presidential elections on the island and is set to return on Tuesday evening. (Albawaba.com)
