At least one person has been killed and five others wounded in an ISIL terrorist bomb attack on a Shia mosque in Yemeni capital city Sanaa.

A “bomb-rigged car” exploded outside the al-Raoudh mosque in southeast Sanaa as worshipers were leaving after prayers, AFP quoted security officials as saying on Tuesday.

The blast and casualties have been confirmed by local Yemeni medical and security sources.

ISIL, which has seized parts of land in Iraq, Syria and other countries, claimed responsibility for the attack several hours after it occurred.

Also on Tuesday, at least ten people, including two children were killed, as a bomb went off near a police station in the country’s central Bayda province.

At least nine other people were also killed in a Saudi navy attack on a mosque in the country’s southwestern Lahij province.
