Daesh militants carried out a series of suicide car bombings targeting a military outpost in Anbar province, killing eight Iraqi soldiers and wounding another six on Monday, military and security officials told the Associated Press.
The assault involved three vehicles including two fuel trucks. The outpost housed a joint contingent of soldiers, police, and allied militiamen, the officials said.
The attack is the latest in a series of deadly assaults by Daesh in Anbar. Since Friday, at least 75 soldiers and allied Sunni militiamen have been killed, AP reported.
