damas awarded best service performance brand

Damas, the leading international jewellery retailer in the Middle
East, was awarded the Best Service Performance Brand in the 'Special Business
Category' for the period September 2006 to March  2007 in the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES), initiated by the Department of Economic Development in Dubai.

The company was honoured at an impressive conference attended by top government executives and decision makers in the UAE. The award was presented by Khalid Ibrahim Al Kassim, Deputy Director General for Planning & Development to Tamjid Abdullah and the Damas team. The
event was organised by the DSES Secretariat for its members.

Tamjid Abdullah, Deputy Managing Director of Damas, noted: "Damas has done it once again! We are extremely pleased to receive this award which recognises, supports and encourages businesses that make positive and significant contributions towards a better trade environment, demonstrate a capacity for leadership and commit themselves to the pursuit of excellence and innovation. A few years back, Damas dared to dream about becoming one of the biggest jewellery retailers in the region and it has achieved it. The award will motivate us to take Damas to the next level of excellence."

Khalid Ibrahim Al Kassim added: "The Dubai Service Excellence Scheme is the most prestigious event celebrating the achievements of the retail sector. It is given to organisations that have made a deep impact on the retail business in Dubai and no one else deserves it more than Damas which has ably demonstrated its excellence at all levels – high quality products, customer service, knowledge of the front desk staff and a good business environment.”

The DSES has been designed to gain customer confidence and transform the experience of buying in Dubai into a pleasurable one. The scheme binds all participating businesses to a common code of business ethics and core criteria for customer service excellence. This scheme is suited to all businesses, especially businesses from the service sector where customer service is the single most differentiating factor between competitors.

Businesses that are successful in gaining membership to the scheme are permitted to display scheme logo on their premises and stationery. This assures customers that they can expect excellent, ethical, and fair service from professionally managed and customer-orientated
businesses.
