Damascus Radio on Sunday affirmed that the “real threat and danger” in the region is the “Israeli procession” of weapons of mass destruction.
The state-run radio said that if the alleged Iraqi weapons are used as a pretext to launch an aggression on that country, the real threat originates from the Israeli weapons of mass destruction, especially since they are in the hands of “terrorists and extremists who do not hesitate to use them against the Palestinian people”.
In its daily political commentary, the Syrian radio expressed surprise over the world’s silence regarding the Israeli weapons, in particular following the recent Israeli government’s threats of “erasing Iraq from existence”, according to SANA news agency.
The radio drew attention to the unlimited US bias to Israel by “excepting Israel from any accountability or massacres practices” such as the one that occurred in Jenin.
“If the Iraqi disarmament is because of its occupation of Kuwait, doesn’t Israel occupy Arab territories, Golan and part of Lebanese lands and refuses to withdraw from them?”, the radio asked, and added, “Doesn’t Israeli nuclear terrorism pose the most dangerous terrorism facing humanity”?
“When will the same standards be applied on everybody without any exception, since the double standard policies are the main cause for disturbance in the region”?, Damascus radio concluded. (Albawaba.com)
