Damascus Radio on Saturday said that ever "since the announcement of the Road Map", Israel and the US were exerting pressure on the Palestinians for "dismantling what they called terrorism infrastructure", instead of focusing on the ongoing Israeli "suppressive practices, which are the main cause of violence".

The state-run radio, cited by SANA, expressed regret over US Secretary of State Collin Powell’s talks accusing the Arab side of hindering the settlement efforts, at a time the Israeli occupation continued in its operations of killing, assassination, and houses demolishing.

Furthermore, in its political commentary, the radio inquired about the peace, which could be realized in wake of such brutal practices and said that Washington "knows well who escapes peace requirements and puts impossible conditions in its way".

The radio concluded that it was time to walk in an "active and serious direction" for "realizing peace" based on a comprehensive settlement, which restores the rights and insures security and stability for all. (Albawaba.com)
