On Wednesday, Damascus Radio reported that Israel’s aim behind the “Gaza First” proposal is that the security solutions which serve Israeli interests should come first and to show that the Israeli government is flexible and wants to go back to the negotiating table.

In its daily political commentary, the state-run radio stressed that Israel wanted to go ahead with this agreement, in order to save itself the efforts of storming Gaza, as was indicated by Israeli military circles, SANA said.

The radio further indicated that the “Gaza First” proposal lays the foundation for a new stage of Israeli escalation, which is just waiting for other regional developments.
