Damascus Radio on Saturday said that US President George W. Bush, in his speech Friday marking the first anniversary of the Iraq war ignored the issue of not finding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq - an issue which served as the American pretext in occupying Iraq.

"Who[ever] examines carefully...US President Bush['s] speech, ...finds that occupation in his understanding means freedom and generalization of this freedom in the Greater Middle East - means to put it under the US occupation," the radio, cited by SANA, said.

The daily political commentary underlined that approval of such policies means to subdue to the US policy dictations instead of to the UN charter and law. (Albawaba.com)
