Damascus Radio stresses importance of active Arab stand in curbing Israeli practices

On Saturday, Damascus Radio said "(Syrian) President Bashar Assad, during his meeting with the Arab Foreign Ministers participating in the Arab Follow-up Committee, stressed the importance of continuing consultations and coordination among the Arab(s) and commitment to the Arab Follow-up Committee(‘s) decisions for activating the Arab solidarity in this critical stage." 

 

In its daily commentary, the Radio reported that the Syrian President affirmed that security and stability in the region would realize only through the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace, according to SANA. 

 

The state-run radio further said that the final communiqué of the follow-up Committee praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and the Intifada, or Uprising, against the Israeli occupation until the liberation of the occupied territories and the establishment of a Palestinian independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. 

 

In addition, the Syrian radio said that the communiqué emphasized the importance of international consultations, especially with the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and stressed adherence to the Arab Peace Initiative, which was approved unanimously by the Arab and International parties. 

 

In conclusion, the radio highlighted the importance of the international and Arab move and an active Arab position in addition to commitment to the international legitimacy resolutions as the only way to curb the Israeli tends towards killing and destruction. (Albawaba.com)
