Damascus Radio stressed on Sunday that the people of the world have comprehended the dangers of the upcoming war against Iraq and its catastrophic consequences not only on Baghdad, but also on the region and entire world.
The radio said that the demonstrations held throughout the world constitute a clear message from the people of the world to those who are beating the drums of war.
Furthermore, the state-run radio, cited by SANA, said that all indications and statements of the US administration and its alliances prove there is a strategic purpose beyond war on Iraq - that of re-arranging the region to serve the US strategic regional interests.
The Syrian radio urged Arabs to defend their rights and to activate their cooperation with world active forces inside and outside the UN Security Council. (Albawaba.com)
