Danish police on Thursday seized a large quantity of pornographic materials depicting children and made several arrests in a massive pre-dawn raid operation, the head inspector announced.
The searches, carried out at 5:00 a.m. (0300 GMT) at 37 addresses in 22 police districts, followed the arrest in May of a 26-year-old man from the central town of Odense who was sending pornographic images showing children to numerous e-mail addresses, inspector Ole Hoejer Pedersen said in a statement.
The statement did not specify how many people were arrested.
Investigators have identified 350 e-mail addresses from which pornographic materials have been sent.
Pedersen, who is leading the inquiry, said those arrested would be subject to prison terms if proven to have sold or produced pornographic material or fines if proven to be in possession of such items -- COPENHAGEN(AFP)
