Jafza based Danube Group’s 1.3 million square ft factory project in TechnoPark is moving ahead full steam.  The upcoming Danube’s industrial complex comprises seven state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and a massive custom designed warehouse to store a wide range of structural steel and wood products.

The seven specialized manufacturing facilities include Melamine MDF Pressing Plant; Impregnation and Décor Plyline Facility; Gypsum Tile Cutting Plant; Gypsum Ceiling Tile Manufacturing Plant; Gypsum Board Stud and Track Plant; Glass Tempering and Polishing Plant; and  Aluminum Profile Manufacturing Plant.

The company is estimated to be investing more than AED 50 million on the project. The new facility, to be completed in phases, will be functional by early 2011. The upcoming industrial complex will support Danube’s expansion plan in the coming years.

Rizwan Sajan, Chairman of Danube Building Materials said: “The new manufacturing facility in TechnoPark demonstrates our commitment to our customers in the Middle East. In the last five years Danube has demonstrated robust growth and the company will continue on the same growth trajectory and meet increasing regional demand. In addition to increasing our manufacturing capabilities we also intend to expand our retail presence in the region and have planned 7 ‘Build-Marts’ in 2010.”

The company started its operations in 1993 and in 2001 it moved to Jafza and established its state-of-the-art head office at the free zone. Its 285,000 sq. ft facility in Jafza North includes its global headquarters and a well equipped modern logistics facility. It has been growing at a rapid pace ever since. To meet its exponential growth Danube added a 365,000 sq. ft. facility in Jafza South  which includes a high class warehouse, kiln drying facility for seasoning of wood and high- tech joinery.

Danube Group is one of the fastest growing construction and building material companies in the Middle East region. In the last 5 years Danube has achieved four fold growth in its turnover as well as in revenue. In 2009, despite economic recession and severe slump in the construction and real estate markets in Dubai and the region Danube has posted annual revenue of AED 1.1 billion. Danube currently has 14 branches worldwide- 8 in the UAE, 2 in Oman, 1 in Bahrain, 2 in China and 1 in India.
