The statistical data of the UAE National Youth Tobacco Survey 2001 will be announced at the First UAE International Conference for School Health due to be held from January 20 to 23, according to Khaleej Times.
During a press conference at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mahmoud Fekkri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Preventive medicine, announced: “The survey was conducted by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Youth on the tobacco consumption among youth aged between 13-15 during the period from October 13 to November 11 last year.”
An estimated number of 5,897 people from 136 various private and public schools in the country participated in the survey conducted by 26 supervisors, coordinators and 34 researchers from both the ministries, Dr Fekkri stated. (Albawaba.com)
