An Iranian court has passed a death sentence on an Iranian found guilty of hijacking a plane in November 1993, reported BBC Wednesday, quoting Iran News Agency (IRNA).
Ali-Reza Karami Kheirabadi was found guilty by a revolutionary court in January of hijacking an oil ministry plane and diverting it to the southern Iraqi city of Basra, where he asked for political asylum, added BBC.
The convict was arrested last October.
Kheirabadi was also accused of being a member of the main armed opposition group, the People's Mujahadeen, which is based in Iraq, said BBC - Albawaba.com
