The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) has stopped dealing with paper licenses and will only certify electronic transactions, it was announced today. This coincides with the launch of DED’s new design for business licenses, an initiative which is part of DED’s objective to strengthening online services.
Mr Mohammed Shael, CEO, Business Registration and Licensing Division, DED, said: “The DED seeks to apply new services electronically to achieve greater effectiveness in performance and save the time and efforts of businessmen and investors. The requests for new licenses will from now on have to be sent via electronic mails.”
“The licenses could be scanned in colour or black & white, and anyone can check the veracity of the license through DED’s website www.dubaided.gov.ae and press “License Verification” button in the main page,” added Shael.
