Global Village, a member of Tatweer and the region’s entertainment, shopping, and cultural attraction located in Dubailand, witnessed the official inauguration of Turkey Pavilion recently. The official ribbon-cutting and tour around the pavilion was attended by the officers of the Consulate Office of Turkey in Dubai headed by the Turkish Consul General Mr. Umit Yalcin, members of Turkish Tourism and Cultural Office headed by the Cultural and Information Attache Mr. Emin Kaya, senior management of Global Village, organizing committee of the Turkey Pavilion, media, and other special guests.
During the inauguration, it was announced that this year – for the first time after almost four years of participating in Global Village – Turkey would have its dedicated solo pavilion. Previously, Turkish entrepreneurs showcased their goods under the Europe Pavilion. A dedicated Turkey pavilion gives residents and visitors an exclusive opportunity to buy authentic Turkish goods for a bargain.
Turkish Consul General Mr. Umit Yalcin said, “Turkey's participation in Global Village is essential in displaying the products from our country. The Turkish small and medium entrepreneurs have experienced great results from the past years so we decided to develop a pavilion to put Turkey on a larger scale. Now, in a span of three months, millions of park visitors will be able to see the wonderful products and experience Turkey in the UAE.”
The Turkey Pavilion in Global Village hosts a total of 46 stalls that provide various products. Exquisite handmade Turkish lamps, ingenious carving on ceramics, beautiful jewelleries and accessories, stylish lines of clothing, original Turkish ice cream and baked potatoes are some of the authentic goods that await visitors. Placed between the Syria and Morocco Pavilions, the Turkey Pavilion is best reached through Gate 4 of Global Village.
