According to AFP, Turkey has freed Syrian journalist Rami Jarrah on Saturday after a public outcry from media groups.
Jarrah posted on his Facebook page that he had been released, although he did not know why he was detained in the first place, suspecting it was because of his work in Syria.
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, a rights group that had called for his release, Jarrah was detained on Wednesday while applying for a residency permit in Gaziantep, Turkey by Turkish authorities
Turkish authorities made no comment to AFP regarding his detention.
