Developers and Website Owners Urged to Focus on Site Speed Optimisation

most focus on ‘eye-candy’ rather than on development and content

As internet users across the world become more demanding, research shows that websites which load or react slowly lose credibility and cost site owners billions of dollars in lost opportunities. Making sure that site performance is as fast as possible – or ‘site speed optimisation’ – can help websites achieve their objectives and significantly improve the return on investment, according to Online Associates, a British-owned web consultancy based in the UAE.

“When confronted with a slow website, users take the easy route and simply abandon it. This process, referred to as ‘bailout behaviour’, is clear indication that a website is failing to fulfil its objectives. Research shows that bailout behaviour costs website owners billions of dollars each year in lost opportunities,” said Fahed Bizzari, CEO & Founder, Online Associates.
