DHL, the leading express logistics provider in the Kingdom, recently announced the winners of its ‘7 Values Painting Competition’, held as part of the launch of DHL’s corporate values.

Underpinning the DHL culture is a set of core values which determine the standard of behaviour DHL expects from all of its employees. These core values are intended to guide everything the express logistics leader does in its business.

Tying in with the unveiling of values, DHL organised a painting competition for local children, with the drawings expressing how these junior talents felt about the newly introduced corporate values. Several judges including Ali Al Mahmeed, Chairman of the Bahrain Arts Society, evaluated all entrants in the competition. Laura Thabet won the overall prize and Maryam Mukhtar received the ‘up to six years’ award. The ‘seven to 10 year’ prize went to Hasan Shukree while Adel Jamal Nasser won the ‘11 year old’ category.

Commenting on the competition, DHL Bahrain General Manager, Nour Suliman said: “Seeing our values through the eyes of children has been a wonderful experience and we are proud to acknowledge their talents.”

The development and implementation of DHL’s corporate values was addressed in a recently held training workshop to help translate the core meanings of these values into the employees’ individual behaviours. The session was held with participation of 250-management level executives divided into working groups representing the DHL offices across the region.

“All groups completed a fantastic job as everyone understood the importance of the new DHL corporate values. It was a great team building session and we are extremely proud of everyone that participated,” added Suliman.
The 7 values are to deliver excellent quality, to make customers successful, to foster openness, to act according to clear priorities, to act in an entrepreneurial way, to act with integrity internally and externally and to accept social responsibilities.
