Dubai Internet City (DIC) experts have warned Gulf companies over their slow response to the fast developing new Internet dependant economy, Emirates official news agency (WAM) reported Tuesday.

The agency quoted Mohammed Gergawi, director general of Dubai technology, E-commerce and media free zone as saying that, "despite all the government support, there were many companies which were still afraid to enter the new technological economy.

"This is having a negative effect on the Arab economy in the Gulf and is slowing down both the government and private sector, "he stressed.

According to DIC website, the body is concerned with the provision of an infrastructure, environment and attitude that will enable New Economy enterprises to operate locally, regionally and globally out of Dubai with significant competitive advantages – (Several Sources)
