About 200,000 homes in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah will be wired and ready for digital television by the end of the year if a local provider has its way, reported the Gulf News on Thursday.
Humaid Rashid Sahoo, chief executive of E-Vision, the UAE's digital cable television provider, hopes the company will have between 50,000 and 60,000 paid-up customers by the end of the year.
Already about 30,000 homes in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are wired for digital television, which is a service offering more than 70 channels.
