The Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel, Residence & Spa, part of the first-class brand of leading hospitality company The Rezidor Hotel Group, has appointed Michael Barnes as Director of Sales and Marketing.
South African Barnes has almost two decades of international hospitality experience, having worked in Portugal, Spain, Australia, Bali, USA, South Africa and Tanzania as Director of Sales and Marketing for a range of four and five star hotels. His most recent position was as Director of Sales at the Movenpick Royal Palm Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - a corporate 231 bedroom five-star property.
“Michael’s primary role is to grow the hotel’s sales revenue and to spearhead all elements of internal and external communications,” said Radek Cais, General Manager, The Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel, Residence & Spa.
“His comprehensive knowledge and experience in hospitality sales will be a real benefit to this challenging role.”
The residence and spa is adjacent to the 246-room Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel, which is in the heart of Bahrain’s capital, Manama City. The residence has 121 luxury apartments and the spa has a range of unique facilities including a separate male spa and ladies only indoor pool, 12 ladies treatment rooms, seven men’s treatment rooms and five pools.
