After an increase in frustrations over the violence which has killed more than 27 Palestinians and over seven hundred injuries, the Palestinian police force entered into direct confrontations with the Israeli army in the northern entry of Ramallah using military force against military force according to report by MBC radio.
The report added that the Israeli military increased its military build-up using armored vehicles and Military helicopters.
Several reports have said that US Secretary of State Madeline Albright will be arriving in the next few hours as a result of the escalating situation. However AFP quoted one of her aids as denying this.
In a separate incident, the Israeli army bombed the Palestinian military intelligence base in Rafah after direct clashes between Palestinian police and Israeli troops, causing the death of one Palestinian police officer and the injury of six others, according to the MBC report.
In Sundays clashes alone, five people have so far been killed and more than a hundred have been injured. Out of these, more than fifty were children between the ages of 12-to 17.
Since the clashes began four days ago, twenty seven Palestinians have been killed and more than seven hundred have been injured.
