Divers have began piercing the hull of the wrecked Kursk nuclear submarine, with a view to recovering the bodies of 118 sailors who died when the vessel sank in August, Russian Northern Fleet commanders said Saturday via ITAR-TASS.
The Kursk has been lying on the bed of the Barents Sea in 108 metres (355 feet) water since August 12, when the vessel sank after a massive explosion, equivalent to five tonnes of dynamite, ripped through the hull -- MOSCOW (AFP)
