ALBAWABA - According to Al Jazeera, the most recent round of ceasefire talks pertaining to the Gaza Strip, held in Doha, Qatar, over the last two days, has officially come to an end.

Following the negotiations, technical teams from Qatar, the US, and Egypt announced in a joint statement that they will be working over the next few days to complete the details of a plan that Washington has put out. The plan seeks to expedite the implementation of the ceasefire agreement by resolving outstanding issues and building on the gains of the previous week.

The statement, which Al Jazeera reported, also said that by the end of next week, senior officials from the concerned nations will meet again in Cairo. Given the parameters set forth in the ongoing talks, the mediators expressed hope for a final agreement.

According to Al Jazeera, the United States has presented a plan to Israel and Hamas aimed at bridging the current divides, in line with the guidelines set forth by U.S. President Joe Biden on May 31 and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2735. The plan builds on the points where the parties to the negotiations have reached a consensus and aims to resolve the remaining issues in a way that will enable prompt implementation.
