Dubai Quality Group "DQG" today organized a free seminar entitled "Philosophy of Organizational Culture and Institutional Work Environment and their effect on Workers" in cooperation with Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry "SCCI" at SCCI's headquarters in Sharjah.
The seminar was designed to identify institutional environment and its effect on work values and behaviors and how leaders can affect institutional work. The Seminar focused on the role of organization's culture, the origin of its ideas and the philosophy of its founders on professional performance and workers' culture.
Ahmed Al Mahmoud, a trainer and advisor on leadership and organizational change management, delivered a lecture in the presence of a number of businessmen, specialists, executive directors and several members of SCCI and DQG.
Al Mahmoud said: "Organizational culture is a group of common values and principles among workers guiding their behavior in a certain way at work environment. This culture is intended to achieve organizational identity and institutional objectives."
"Creating organizational culture is similar to socialization. It is a group of values implanted in people with a view to achieving organization's short-term and long-term goals through three strategic criteria that include clear institutional vision stemmed basically from the culture of the organization and its senior management.", Al Mahmoud added.
On his part, Hussein Al Mahmoudi, General Manager of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: "Management of cultures means the ability to change to suit variables and developments accompanying the changing economic, social and technological circumstances."
Al Mahmoudi stressed the importance of holding this kind of seminars and workshops due to its utmost importance in improving the internal working environment within the organization. He also emphasized that SCCI is fully keen on adopting administrative and institutional developments in business sector to be able to develop its human cadres continuously."
Al Mahmoudi added: "Through its developed strategy, SCCI managed to enhance its performance which contributed to developing its scope of business and increasing its targeted geographical area. Exports and re-exports of Sharjah in Q1 2010 recorded around 10 billion dirhams which reflects SCCI's ability to support its economic position quickly and continuously in regional and international arenas."
