The benchmarking sub-group, one of the subgroups functioning under Dubai Quality Group (DQG), held today a workshop on "Benchmarking; Tools and Practices" under the sponsorship of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) land Department, in the framework of their partnership agreement which was signed on 15th December 2009, where it allows the land department to sponsor events organized by DQG in Ras Al Khaimah.
The workshop, which was held at RAK Land Department, was attended by representatives from various member companies and organizations of Dubai Quality Group, and a wide audience of experts and interested parties, as well as many representatives of private and governmental organizations in Ras Al Khaimah.
For his part, Mr. Sultan Ali Abu Laila, Director General of Land Department, emphasized that the hosting of such event contributes in transferring of specialized and modern knowledge in the field of quality, excellence and its applied practices to government departments and private organizations in Ras Al Khaimah which enhances the image of the land department, and plays an active role in the service of partners and community.
Mr. Ali Al Fadhlani, Chairman of the benchmarking sub-group, lectured in the workshop in which he discussed the tools and basic mechanisms used in the implementation of benchmarking. He also spot light on the best practices that must be followed and rules to be taken into account when benchmarking between the normative organizations of different activities and sizes.
Mr. Alfadlani said: "The importance of benchmarking lies in its ability to identify and reduce administrative gaps, overcome the technical problems, and take advantage of best management practices pursued by the successful organizations, as well as its usage in organizing administrative processes, reduce costs and increase productivity."
Mr. Al Fadhlani emphasized that the implementation of benchmarking within organizations is an essential step in overcoming problems and internal crisis of any organization, pointing out that many of the major organization were able to overcome the consequences of the global financial crisis by adopting the system of benchmarking.
For her part, Ms. Hajar Al Eisa, Corporate Support Manager at Dubai Quality Group, said: "The group seeks to achieve its vision through promoting a culture of excellence among member organizations, where it is the first time that the group organizes this event in collaboration with the Land Department in Ras Al Khaimah, which reflects the fruitful cooperation of the strategic partnership with the land Department in Ras Al Khaimah.
Ms. Al Eisa pointed out that this event it is one of the numerous activities that the group intends to launch in 2010 to cope with its strategy for the current year which requires redoubled efforts to develop the UAE business community and increase the geographical spot targeted by the group's activities including the holding of events at the level of the GCC.
The workshop concluded by thanking and honoring both HE. Sultan Ali Abu Laila, Director General of Land Department, and Mr. Mohamed Hussein Fahmy, Deputy Director of Organizational Excellence, for the devoted efforts being made in sponsoring the event.
Dubai Quality Group is frequently organizing such events which include symposium, lectures and workshops, in line with its efforts to develop and modernize the public and private business sectors which help in developing the functional performance for both organizations and individuals.
Benchmarking sub-group is frequently holding seminars, conferences, workshops and training courses. Moreover, it prepares many events for 2010, which will be implemented in succession in and abroad the UAE.
