DQG performs a benchmarking with RAK Land Department

Dubai: A benchmarking was performed recently between Dubai Quality Group (DQG) and Ras Al Khaimah Land Department, at DQG's headquarters in Dubai. The benchmarking covered the areas of; strategic planning, organizational excellence, human resources, organizational support, financial management, information technology and executive secretariat.

The benchmarking showed that Land Department and DQG were very similar in embracing strategic thinking, non profitability, the desire to achieve excellence in the provision of regional services with a distinct organizational reputation, and also were similar in the size of the staffing structure for the corresponding units, the human resources activities management and the administrative support. As for the differences; there were fundamental differences between the two organizations in the nature of the provided services, clients, the way of organizational contact and the organizational structure which is more complicated in the land department as compared to DQG. Besides, land department characterized by the presence of (MIS) as a supportive system for the decision maker. On the other hand, DQG has been characterized by its interactive website through which it provides a large part of its services and easily communicate with more than (4000) organizations and individuals.
At any rate, benchmarking revealed the existence of a major strategic rapprochement between the two organizations, especially after the economic crisis. Furthermore, Land department sought to build organizational capacity and to achieve organizational excellence, while DQG sought to focus on providing managerial consultancy and organizational support to governmental departments among the UAE, besides, Arabization its programs and publications. Hence, comes the consideration of a strategic partnership agreement between the two organizations.

During the benchmarking, both of Ms. Samia Al Yousuf, DQG managing director, and Mr. Mohamed Hussein Fahmy, director of organizational excellence department of the Land Department, exchanged trophies and publications of each organization ob behalf of Dr. Wafi Dawood, chairman of the DQG, and Mr. Sultan Ali Abu Laila, Director General of Land Department.

The land department's delegation included Ms. Roqaia Konfosh, head of support services, Ms. Fatima Al Malki, head of information technology, Ms. Kulthum Karam, executive secretary of the general director, Ms. Haifa Ali, quality coordinator. While DQG'S delegation included Ms. Hajar Al Eisa, corporate support manager, Ms. Thana'a Al Tabi, organizational excellence specialist, Ms. Jieshou Damodarn, financial controller, Ms. Femina Moideen,, publications and events coordinator, and Ms. Zainab Al Balushi, coordinator of administrative support.
