Saffar Capital, a DIFC based regional financial services firm, announced the appointments of Dr. Adnan Al-Sultan, former Chief Investment Manager for Direct Investments of the Kuwait Investment Authority, and Mr. Yew Meng Fong, former Managing Director of HSBC Futures and Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Securities, to its board of directors.  With the two appointments, Saffar Capital has expanded its board to five members.

“I am very pleased to have Dr. Adnan and Yew Meng join our board. Both have enjoyed very successful careers and bring the ideal blend of international and regional experience," said Mishaal Al-Usaimi, CEO of Saffar Capital.

Dr. Al-Sultan brings to Saffar Capital more than thirty years of financial investment, strategic planning and management experience, including leadership positions in academia, asset management and consulting businesses.
As a non-executive director, Mr. Fong will be responsible for contributing to the strategic direction of the firm.  Mr. Fong possesses extensive experience in regulatory, accounting, resource allocation, marketing technology and risk operations, having managed such activities at Deutsche Bank and HSBC Futures.  Mr. Fong already serves on the audit committee of Saffar Capital’s parent company, Saffar Holdings.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Fong said “I have been following Saffar Capital’s progress for some time and look forward to working with Dr. Al-Sultan Adnan and the other board members and the very capable team at Saffar.”
The appointments of Dr. Al-Sultan and Mr. Fong build on Saffar Capital’s emerging position as key regional advisory firm specializing in M&A and debt restructuring.
