Drake & Scull International (DSI), one of the leading independent electrical and mechanical engineering contracting companies, has announced the successful delivery of the District Cooling project at Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZ), as well as the completion of its MEP (Mechanical electrical and plumbing) project in a two-block office building also located in the Free Zone.
Earlier, DSI was appointed main contractor to undertake the enhancement of DAFZ’s existing central cooling plant and provide a new central water storage facility to be utilized for domestic water and fire fighting requirements as well as irrigation. It has successfully signed off on the project after carrying out a complete revamp of existing infrastructure while ensuring minimal disruption to end-users of DAFZ services. A series of night time shutdowns were co-ordinated with free zone’s authority, so as to minimize impact on the operating performance of DAFZ’s tenants.
DSI has also successfully delivered on its MEP contract with DAFZ for infrastructure in an office building complex located in the Free Zone’s Development Phase IV. The project dealt with mechanical and electrical works for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, sewage, storm, fire alarm system, Uninterrupted Power Supply, CCTV, Power Generators, Access Control Systems, Telephone and Data systems, Building Management Systems and small power & lighting systems.
