Drone strike targets Daesh positions near Raqqa

An unidentified drone targeted Daesh positions near the militant group's de-facto Syrian capital of Raqqa, the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights told Reuters on Friday.

Raqqa is a major operational hub for the Daesh group in Syria and the area has been targeted by both US-led coalition bombing and, more recently, Russian warplanes in support of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad this week.

According to Reuters, no immediate information on casualties was available and it was not clear who was operating the drone.
