DSF Office hosts Japanese group for a tour of DSF 2009
The DSF Office recently hosted fourteen representatives of major travel companies in Japan for a four-day comprehensive tour of DSF 2009. The initiative comes in the wake of a wider strategy to promote DSF and Dubai to regions relatively unaffected by the current global economic crisis.
While the tour covered major landmarks and main DSF 2009 venues and events, the group also met with key tourism officials in the private and public sector to discuss ways to increase visitor traffic to Dubai through customized tour packages.
Members of the group expressed their admiration for the high-quality of events in DSF 2009 and commended the fast paced development of Dubai in a short span of time, comparing it to other leading cities in the world today.
Saeed Al Mehairi, Senior Marketing Coordinator at Dubai Shopping Festival Office, who accompanied the group in the four-day tour said, “Inviting groups from countries around the world during DSF is part of our marketing strategy to promote DSF and Dubai to a wider global audience and this initiative is even more significant in the current economic circumstances.”
"Japan is, and remains one of the biggest markets for DSF and in the future, we will be looking to enhance our cooperation with travel and tour entities to attract tourists from Japan,” he said.
