DSS 2008 Kids Fashion Week begins today with collections of Benetton and Sisley
Kids Fashion Week, a DSS 2008 Signature Event and one among the fashion highlights for this summer, begins on July 3 with some of the biggest names in the industry showcasing the latest collections at Dubai Festival City, a key sponsor of DSS this year and an active member of the Dubai Shopping Malls Group.
The collections of twelve international brands and two designers will be shown in the week-long event with members of the Modhesh Friends Club modelling the latest trends on the ramp.
Maitha Gobash, Supervisor for Kids Fashion Week said, “Over the next week, some of the latest global trends in children’s fashion will be showcased in Dubai during DSS. Apart from being a sought after fashion destination in the Middle East, Kids Fashion Week aims at contributing to Dubai’s ever-growing popularity of hosting niche fashion events.”
Shows for the week
United Colors of Benetton will showcase its 2008 Summer collection in the first show on July 3, followed by the collections of the Group’s trend-setting brand, Sisley, in the second show. The collections of Kenzo Kids and Moschino will be the highlights on July 4, at 7:30pm and 8:15pm respectively.
Blumarine, another renowned brand, and Miss Grant & GF, will showcase collections on July 5. On July 6, Jacadi, and Souris Mini, will display their latest collections to audiences at Dubai Festival City.
The following day on July 7, two internationally and well recognized brands in the Middle East, Diesel Kids (7:30pm) and Pumpkin Patch (8:15pm) will get their collections on the ramp. On July 8, Dubai Festival City will host Okaidi at 7:30pm, and Orchestra at 8:15pm.
The last day of 2008 Kids Fashion Week features the only two designers in the event, Hind Al Gazal and Sumay Al Hamadi, two prominent Emarati designers.
United Colors of Benetton and Sisley on July 3
The first show on July 3 at 7:30pm will feature the collections of United Colors of Benetton, one of the world’s best known brands that has an international style combining colour, energy and practicality. The brand’s 2008 summer collection, unveiled in June 2008 and available in select stores in Dubai, is described as being inspired by the childish freedom to wear, to interpret, to choose, to move about and to play.
The second show at 8:15pm features collections of Sisley, known as the trend-setting brand of the Benetton Group.
