Huda Kattan, a Hollywood-trained, Dubai-based Makeup Artist & Beauty Consultant announced today the debut of her new website, www.HudaBeauty.com. The newly launched site is set and ready to take the term 'Arabian Beauty' to a whole new level, being one of the fastest growing makeup and beauty blogs in the Middle East with hits an average of 1,300 hits per day and growing.
According to Kattan, "this website is a way to keep people informed of not only the latest news and trends, but also what's going on with the industry first-hand in Dubai and all over the world. I feel that the up-close-and-personal approach offers an extra level of exposé to the industry."
Kattan, who studied at the world's number one makeup school, Joe Blasco in Hollywood, has set out on a mission to carry her expertise back to the Middle East. "Dubai is already beautiful and the people here appreciate self expression through art, so for me, I feel I am in the perfect place to grow as an artist", Kattan explains.
The concept evolved out of Kattan's passion for makeup and beauty while she was in university. "I came up with the concept of a beauty blog when I was at the University of Michigan. I was studying finance but clearly beauty obsessed. It was always tricks like rubbing lemons on your knees to make them lighten or what herbs to use to combat breakouts that interested me, makeup was more of a hobby at that point."
Ensuring that she would be unique, Kattan quickly highlighted that she wasn't taking the traditional route. "It wasn't until I studied makeup that I realized I had more to offer–it isn't the traditional all beauty tips or all makeup tips website. I would be a fusion of the two, with my own little touch. I want to include as much of my personality and me in it as possible. That's really important to me", she highlights.
Commenting about the makeup industry in the region, "I feel the makeup industry in Dubai has not met its potential yet, which is a bit ironic considering how much beauty is appreciated here. Middle Eastern women are incredibly beautiful, but unfortunately, most people are not properly equipped with the tools and education to give them the best overall appearance. Sure, they look gorgeous and exotic already, but it's reaching their full potential that I am interested in.", she adds.
Kattan's website is very simple in design and easy to navigate. The search tools will also allow visitors to search for a specific topic of interest without any hassles.
