Dubai Chamber launches 21st issue of Commercial Directory 2009-2010
The rise in the number of listed companies this year reflects positively on Dubai’s economic strength, says Director General
Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry has launched the 21st issue of its Commercial Directory 2009-2010. Published separately in Arabic and English and in CD format, the directory has an increased listing of 5% from the last edition and is considered a strong trading tool for all businesses and consumers locally, regionally and internationally.
The new version of the directory lists all types of active businesses operating in Dubai and registered with Dubai Chamber in addition to updates and information on businesses and economic activities in the UAE in general and Dubai in particular. The directory also provides an overview of Dubai’s economic and trade activities, infrastructure, free zones, social services, procedures of obtaining licenses, future Dubai projects and a brief description of services offered by the Chamber.
HE Eng Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber, said that the Dubai Commercial Directory has become one of the most comprehensive information source of its kind and an essential reference tool for the local and foreign businesses wishing to establish new contacts with other businesses to promote their
products and services as it reflects the growth of the various economic sectors of Dubai and highlights the efforts of Dubai Chamber in fulfilling its objectives of supporting all economic activities in the
Emirate.
Added Buamim, "The Dubai Commercial Directory, that has been undergoing constant changes while keeping pace with the economic growth of Dubai, showcases the determination of Dubai Chamber in supporting and protecting the interests of its members in facilitating communication, which enhances the investment environment in the Emirate. The rise in the number of member companies listed in the new directory from 73,000 last year to 77,000 is seen as a positive sign for the economic sector of Dubai.”
The new directory contains two sections with the first one featuring valuable information on Dubai’s trade and economic activities, infrastructure, possibilities for doing business in Dubai, procedures for licensing of economic enterprises, Dubai’s free zones and its future projects while section two enlists member companies operating in Dubai and its free zones with their full contact details and areas of operations.
