Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry launches today (21st November, 2007) its new identity that copes with the ambitious vision the emirate's leadership has set through Dubai Strategic Plan 2015. The Chamber’s new look reinforces its commitment to continue serving the business community in Dubai and to enhance its competitive advantage for better contribution to the national economy.
HE Eng. Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber, outlined the new identity and vision of the Chamber stressing that it helps enhance its position as the prime agency for business in Dubai which will continue to help the Emirate become the region’s leading business hub of the 21st Century.
He stressed the importance of the new change that enables the Chamber adapt the required tools to face the new challenges of future with hard work and better performance. “The business community of Dubai, while benefiting from a multitude of opportunities in our rapidly growing economy, now more than ever needs an effective and reliable platform to protect, promote, facilitate and represent its interests in an unfamiliar market that is still evolving.”
“The Dubai Chamber has recently undergone a significant change which is symbolised by our re-branding initiative and we are perfectly placed to fulfil our vision to meet all the needs of the entire business community, to adopt new initiatives that help improve businessmen's activities and strengthen their relations with overseas counterparts through which they could benefit from various investment opportunities."
Buamim explained that the new identity copes with the economic changes that Dubai is experiencing. It reflects Dubai Chamber's effort to develop a better investment and business environment, and to offer more value-added services to help its members enhance their businesses.
"The new look of Dubai Chamber reflects our readiness to face the new challenges of the modern business environment focusing more on our main responsibility as a chamber to serve the business community and activate the purposes of its available initiatives such as the new Responsible Business Centre and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award and others," he added.
Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the first body of its kind, was set up over forty years ago to support the Dubai economy and business community and now represents over 100,000 members in all sectors. The Chamber offers a series of outstanding services such as issuing certificates of origin for exporters, and strengthening Dubai's trade ties with the world through receiving Arab and foreign trade delegations and signing agreements of cooperation with different commercial organizations, as well as offering mediation and commercial arbitration services
The Chamber has received international acclaim for its recent initiatives such as hosting last month’s Dubai-Hamburg Business Form, which was attended by over 200 UAE and German CEOs, and for the launch of the ‘Making it our business’ campaign in line with the US-UAE Partnership for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research which was witnessed by First Lady Laura Bush last month. Buamim pointed out that Dubai Chamber is going to organize various mutual economic forums with a number of important sister cities that share similar economic characteristics with Dubai in Latin America, Russia and Eastern Europe.
The streamlined operation will continue to offer ‘value added’ services which enable business growth: the Dubai Women Business Council, Arbitration, Credit Rating, Trade missions and delegations involvement, Entrepreneurial training programmes, State-of-the-Art Library and the Dubai Trade Point which was launched last year to encourage members to practice international trade and which received a Dubai Government Excellence Program Award 2006.
