Dubai Chamber to participate in World Chambers Congress

Dubai Chamber will share best practices and present opportunities for sustainable development at the Congress in early June

Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry will make its presence felt as a diamond sponsor of the 6th World Chambers Congress being held in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur from June 3-5. A delegation led by HE Eng Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber, will participate in the World Chambers Congress to exchange expertise and strengthen cooperation between the world business communities during these challenging times.

The Congress, which is expected to be attended by delegates from over 100 chambers worldwide, is organised every two years in a member country by the ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF). This is the only international forum open to the global community of more than 12 000 chambers. This time the theme is Leading Sustainable Growth and Change.

The Congress will provide an excellent opportunity to enhance cooperation and share best practices between chambers of commerce. Further, it will offer a means to disseminate information about Dubai Chamber’s initiatives as well as the investment opportunities available for the international business community in Dubai. The Congress will also create a platform to discuss important issues such as sustainable growth in the context of global trends including climate change, demographics, migration and industrialisation.

As HE Buamim states: "We are looking forward to this Congress. It provides a golden opportunity to share expertise and best practices from around the world and discuss ways to build a sustainable recovery during this extraordinary time."

The Director General, who is participating in the Congress panel discussion on “Chambers and the Environment”, will be highlighting the role of Dubai Chamber in conserving the environment through the application of various environmentally friendly initiatives in the workplace. He will also be focusing on the role of the Chamber in enhancing the business sector by disseminating best practices in business ethics, environmental and social practices among the business community.
