Dubai Municipality's public transportation department has announced that it will begin conducting a telephone survey starting Monday to define passengers' needs for new bus routes, modification of existing routes, and additional bus stops or times, according to the Khaleej Times.
Abdul Aziz Malik, the director of the public transportation department, said the four-day survey would help the civic body enhance its popular public transport system in line with the expectations of its users.
Malik was quoted by the Dubai-based paper as saying that "We are currently in the process of redesigning the bus route network and service volumes in order to offer an efficient and modern bus transport system to the residents of Dubai."
The proposed survey, according to the daily, will help the department pinpoint the actual needs of passengers in terms of new bus routes, modifications to the existing routes, or anything related to the quality of bus transportation in the emirate.
Apart from suggestions to introduce new bus routes and modifications to existing routes, the passengers will also be able to request additional bus stops or times, the report said.
In addition, they will have the opportunity to put forth any other suggestions that would improve the public transportation system in the emirate in general – Albawaba.com
