The electricity and water commission in Dubai is currently assembling and installing the biggest three desalination units in the world with a daily capacity reaching 13 millions and 330,000 gallons of water for each unit, the commission director, Said Mohammed Al Tayer, said in a press statement, cited by the Emirati official news agency (WAM).
Tayer said these units were being installed as part of the second phase of electricity generation and water desalination project at Jabal Ali adding that this phase would cost 2.155 billion dirhams and would generate 880 megawatt of electricity and 40 millions of fresh water daily -- Albawaba.com
