Dubai Courts receives applications for 4th Dubai Courts Excellence Award
Award to support the Strategic Plan 2009 - 2011 in creating a work environment that promotes creativity and excellence
Dubai Courts has announced that it will continue to receive applications for the 4th Dubai Courts Excellence Award until September 30, 2009. Applications will be submitted using the same templates being used by the Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP). Dubai Courts also announced that it has recently published a special booklet about the award’s policies, standards, mechanism and categories.
Candidates for the awards have been invited to participate in workshops under the supervision of DGEP. The workshops, which focus on corporate and administrative excellence, are expected to be held in May and June and are part of Dubai Courts' efforts to encourage greater involvement in conferences, seminars and training courses that are geared towards excellence.
Dubai Courts has likewise taken advantage of the power of the internet and advanced technologies to promote the award; it has provided a special link for the Dubai Courts Excellence Award through the Knowledge Portal, an internal online facility for the staff. The portal includes information about the Award's goals, criteria and categories, and also features an online version of the manuals of the Dubai Courts Excellence Award and DGEP as well as the names of the previous winners of both programs.
Dubai Courts Excellence Award is part of Dubai Courts Department's total quality management initiatives that aim to raise awareness about the importance of excellence. The Award is the first initiative of its kind at the Dubai Government Departments level
and the first in the regional and international levels to cover courts work. Dubai Courts Excellence Award is a step towards achieving excellence and boosting organisational and individual performance of the courts.
Dubai Courts Excellence Award aims to support the Dubai Courts Strategic Plan 2009 – 2011 especially in establishing a work environment that cultivates creativity and excellence. The main objectives of this initiative are to support the development of the three courts along with their different divisions and workforce. The Award also encourages the use of modern and advanced administrative concepts and serves as a motivation for all Dubai Courts employees to promote creativity, excellence, commitment, know-how, customer support and performance.
Dubai Courts Excellence Award is a parallel program to DGEP where the same criteria, categories and procedures are applied. The senior leadership of Dubai Courts has extended its support to the Award because of its role in promoting the principles of excellence, creativity and quality, while helping cultivate administrative and professional best practices as well as advanced and effective working methods. The Dubai Courts Excellence Award has been held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Saeed Bin Hazeem, Dubai Courts Director General and is under the supervision of Dr. Yousuf Ali Hmaid Al Suwaidi, Director of Strategy & Organisational Performance Department in Dubai Courts; their support has contributed largely to the development of the Award and its success year-on-year.
Dubai Courts Excellence Award has 14 categories covering various areas of excellence in the judicial and administrative fields. The categories include Outstanding Judge of the Year, Creative Employee and Creative Department. Another category is the Outstanding Partner, which was initiated in 2007 as part of Dubai Courts' mission to promote its strategic partners and boost their role in enhancing the performance and achieving groundbreaking success in courts work.
Dubai Courts Excellence Award plays an important role in establishing a modern, motivated and competitive working environment and promoting high levels of performance in all areas of the judicial service.
