Dubai Customs awarded the children of its employees whose academic achievements during the past school year were distinguished. The ceremony took place at the Emirates Towers Hotel on Thursday, August 20th, 2009 in the presence of Mr. Yousif Al Sahlawi, Executive Director of the Legislations and Policies Division. The ceremony was also attended by executive directors, a number of employees as well as parents and families of the students.

At the beginning of the ceremony Mr. Yousif Al Sahlawi greeted the students and expressed his sincere wishes for more educational excellence and success to anchor their future careers. Moreover, he handed the students certificates of honor and stressed that such awards are part of the Department's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities which target the employees and their children in order to cultivate a friendly and warm work atmosphere among employees.

Mr. Yousif Al Sahlawi said:" Dubai Customs gives a great interest to Social Responsibility as it is regarded a high strategic objective along with our duties towards supporting economic and social development in Dubai. In addition, we are keen on achieving a high level of career satisfaction at the Department, which is a common interest we share with other government departments and organizations."

Mr. Al Sahlawi took the opportunity to greet Dubai Customs employees on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. He also urged students to do their best in the upcoming school year 2009-2010. He said that such an event will be regularly held on a yearly basis, and that this is the least that can be done to encourage and reward outstanding and distinguished students in the field of educational excellence. On the other hand, he pointed out that Dubai Customs implements several programs throughout the year which aim to award and promote employees' excellence as well.

At the end of his speech, Mr. Yousif Al Sahlawi urged the students to exert their utmost efforts to further their education. He also called for providing more support to the distinguished students in order to build a future generation that aspires to achieve comprehensive development.
