Dubai Customs congratulates Saudi Customs for receiving World Customs Organization IPR award

Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Dubai Customs Director General extended his greetings to Saleh Bin Manei Al Khaliwi, Saudi Customs Director General for receiving World Customs Organization (WCO) award for the efforts it makes to combat commercial fraud and for protecting intellectual properties rights (IPR). In an oral message, Mr. Ali Al Shahhi, Senior Manager of International and Regional Relations at Dubai Customs extended H.E. greetings during an official visit he recently made to Saudi Customs for this purpose.


Dubai Customs Director General expressed his great happiness for the Saudi Customs. “Receiving such a significant award proves their efforts in the field of combating fraud, counterfeit and the IPR.” He said.

Ahmed Butti Ahmed considered:” The Saudi Customs’ winning the award a gain and an honor not only for the Saudi Customs, but also for all customs authorities in the GCC.

On behalf of Dubai Customs Director General, Mr. Al Shahhi handed Dubai Customs memorial gift to H.E. Al Khaliwi to express and share the Department’s joy of the award.

Al Khaliwi expressed his appreciation to Dubai Customs for the kind feelings it showed towards Saudi Customs as well. He also confirmed the solid relations between the two departments which root back to a long period of time with much joint and continuous work of serving the two nations; the Emirati and the Saudi.

Mr. Martin Deon, President of WCO and WCO Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya handed the award to the Saudi Customs Director General in the presence of Customs official personals from the member countries during the meetings of the WCO 113 and 114 sessions in Brussels in Belgium from June 24th to 27th, 2009.
