Dubai Customs succeeded in preventing 2 attempts of drugs smuggling estimated at 1613.6 gram of Heroin through Dubai International Airport.
Inspectors in Airport Operation Department – Terminal (1) had suspected one passenger arriving from one of the African countries, in spite of the fact that the initial inspection does not come to a result still the inspectors have doubts about the passenger depending on their experience and knowledge of body language. Depending on that they exposed the passenger to the body scan machine; their doubts come true and it was clear enough that there are strange objects in his intestines. Responding to the question regarding the number of capsules he was carrying, he admitted of swallowing 77 capsules.
Depending on the mutual coordination and cooperation with Drugs Intervention Department the suspected was transferred to the General Department of Criminal Investigation in Dubai Police to complete investigation with him. Later on it was found that he was carrying 77 capsules containing 1150 grams of Heroin.
In a similar smuggling case, Dubai Customs Inspectors in Airports Operation Department – Terminal (2) had suspected one passenger arriving from one of the Asian countries, when they exposed the passenger to the body scan machine; it was clear enough that there are strange objects in his intestines.
After investigation it was found that he was carrying 6 capsules containing 463.6 grams of Heroin.
